Metal Band Art: promote your work!!!!

    I am starting a blog dedicated to Art used for Metal bands and I am looking for submissions. If you have done work for a metal band or if you have anything that was just released please send the link or info to me....

    The site will features artist interviews, shirts of the week feature, new releases,hall of fame, etc...Also, I would love to put up some work in progress or artwork through the stages of the creative process

    looks great so far!

    first thing I spotted/remembered, that the Slayer cover included copied images. don't think, they'd get away with it these days :)

    cool. I was about to dig out the old comic book. but now I don't have to :)

    german 80's trashers Living Death "took" images from the same book/series and used them on at least two covers ("Vengeance of Hell" and "Worlds Neurosis").

    maybe someone might want to interview Glenn Danzig, about all the things he stole during his career?

    yes, he has quite few stories to tell about working with Maiden. and why he quit in the end... :)

    don't know who else is on your list of "legends", but Ed Repka came back to mind recently, with the "80's thrash revival" that's been going on for some time now.

    two thumbs up! even there's nothing really new in the interview (for me though), it's really nice to see an artist talking honestly about his work and clients.
    I don't really like his later, digital stuff and looking at his site and comments on his own work, he's rarely pleased with it himself.

    Away (Michel Langevin) is the drummer from Voivod. not a cover designer per se, but he does all the stuff for his band, did the Probot cover, Danko Jones etc. I think he even had an artbook released a few years ago.

    Markus Mayer has done loads of covers mainly for european bands. probably best known for his stuff for Grave Digger, Sodom, Atrocity, various compilations and other thrash, or Metal (with a capital M!) bands.

    hm, maybe try through NECA. he was/is an art director there. at least that's what it says on his Myspace page.
