my insides are screaming for one, but i had ipad 1 for about a month, and it was pretty useless, seeing as how i don't go anywhere. but still, drooooooool. isnt the xoom going to be $800?

yeah, i thought the xoom was crazy expensive, im not positive though. also, i'm a huge android nerd, but i'm not crazy about the tablets they have so far.

My roommate just got one, it's great. A little messier than an iPad yeah, but that's kind of Android's thing. And yeah, it was like $900 after taxes.

I'd really like one but still cant justify the cost when I have a Powerbook and an iPhone. Love the cover for it too, great design/engineering!

they are definitely working on the next gen which i will bet money has a retina display amongst other awesome things, BUT at the absolute minimum it will be 1 year from now and most likely a few months more than that. and even when that one comes out another one will come out a year after that. there will never be a day where there isn't another one around the corner so if that is your concern the only real time to buy is right when the shit comes out.

The main thing I was waiting for was the HDMI output, but it doesn't matter anyway since it can stream wirelessly. I have two of the first gens, but the upgrades aren't enough to want to upgrade. That being said, if I didn't have an iPad, I would totally get the new one. Also, do yourself a favor and get Netflix on it if you don't have it already. The movies are very crisp!

I'd buy that for a dollar.

That iFlap cover thing just reminded me of those fold out reflector things people put in their windsheilds to protect the dashboards from the sun.

i'll be picking one up. i wasn't too impressed with the first one so i held out. to be completely honest not overwhelmed by this one but i travel some for work and this will be great. i'm with SWH on the design of other tablets, i'm a MAC and PC guy and i would love to see other companies step up their product design.

also if this picture is true, a 32gb wi-fi only version is starting to pop up in stores. $539 is a great deal in my book.

i saw the yesterday. If it's a real thing, i'm into it. I have a lot of money already invested into apps for ios things so switching to an android tablet would be tough for me, but a wifi only xoom at that price would make the decision a little harder.

really? its only 60 bucks less than a 32 wifi ipad. i mean its a good deal, but not enough to make me want to buy the heinous one. Not to mention one without any customer support. Have fun going to "The Motorola Store" to get it fixed if you ever have any problems with it.

square rules, i have one. even if you aren't gonna use it for a while sign up now cause they take forever to come. hard to complain though since its free. as for the ipad, the only reason i want one is for bullshitting on the internet when i am on the couch and traveling.

yeah they sped it up, i got mine less than a week after signing up. hope i can pick an ipad 2 up friday.

I own an archos 10.1, it's pretty much enough for what I use it for (and it's two times cheaper), I probably won't upgrade to an iPad2, even if it actually looks sweet. Showing stuff to clients on your tablet instead of a laptop does wonders. Very good investement if you meet a lot of your clients in person.

I think I might pick one up. I definitely don't need it, but I can use the deduction on my 2011 taxes, so that's a plus.

Yep. I just did mine too and it sucked. The accountant was nice and fairly helpful, she let me make up some stuff like we quick wrote up a mileage log and she let me claim the scanner which I had no receipt for. I need to really get better at this deduction stuff.
