"SAN FRANCISCO –This spring, brand-new pop art venue Artifact Gallery opens its doors to host premier comic book and illustration artists in a debut exhibition worthy of note. Artists Jim Mahfood, Camilla D’Errico, Anthony Ausgang, N8 Van Dyke, Adam Isaac Jackson, Greg Peltz (Pixar), Sol Sallee, and Isaac Bidwell will all come together for “Burlesque,” a show dedicated to exploring and celebrating the seduction, tease, and wit of the classic song-and-dance. From ink and gauche to paint and digital, the multi-media, multi-style exhibition showcases art in a vein of parody and sexuality unlike ever seen before in an unofficial WonderCon afterparty for the books. Contemporary pop has always had its stronghold on Americana, punk, and independent sensibilities, providing an outlet to those wanted to contribute to the American landscape via expression of the culture around them, and this group show is definitive of those expressions."
