My name is Steve Pierce. I am a musician/illustrator/graphic designer... it's funny that I put them in that order because that's pretty much the opposite of how lucrative each has been for me so far. As a graphic designer, I am a designer at an urban sportswear/outerwear company in Detroit. I don't care much for this job but times are tough and there's not a lot out there for creatives in Michigan.
This past fall I committed to becoming a full time freelance illustrator. I'm focusing largely on bands while still picking up jobs from small companies for web work, etc. Business is slowly picking up for me, but I have no doubt that I will realize this goal and be able to provide for my family as a freelancer.
