Hey guys,

For a while now, you may have noticed us dropping subtle hints about some coming improvements and fixes to Band Job. We've posted a lot of comments along the lines of "We're working on that" and "Stay tuned..". Well, we thank you all for your patience and are finally ready to tell you guys what we have planned for this community.

Redesign

First and foremost, Band Job is getting a shiny new design. We've been working on this for weeks now and hope it will make everyone as giddy as it's making us.

Next we're going to start reworking the main features of the site, such as the Jobs section. We know there's a lot of room for improvement there, and your suggestions so far have been welcomed and extremely valuable. Look out for discussions in the Forum where we'll ask the community for their feedback on the sections we're working on.

New Stuff

We've thought a lot about how to make Band Job a better and more useful place. After we tackle making the existing features better, we want to add a few more.

First up will be a news section that will focus on music art: new album art releases, interviews, guest posts, etc.

Next up will be a resource section. This will be a curated section of the site that will list books, websites, interviews, articles, tools, process videos, tutorials, and anything else that may be helpful to the community.

We also have a few surprises up our sleeve. We won't give away too much right now, but we can say that they'll be a lot of fun for everyone and will help this community grow.

And...well what else would you guys like to see?

So When Will This Stuff Happen?

You'll start noticing changes as early as next month when we'll launch the new design. From there, we'll release new features at least every month.

Why Are You Doing It?

As a company, The Black Axe owes a huge debt to Emptees. We hung out there, learned a lot, met awesome people, got exposure, grew as designers, and most importantly maintained a sense of excitement and fun about our work. We want to return the favor.

Our goal is to make Band Job a useful resource for designers as well as a fun place to hang out. We love music and we love design, and we know you do too.
