Brock May on Jan 31, 2012if you want that "number one artist out there" you are probably going to have to dish out more cash then your current budget.

Bottom line...
He wants the guy on the left...but is only willing to pay enough to afford guy on the right.

I'll do a t-shirt design for a high-five and a good ol' genuine smile! Maybe I'm your number one guy! (hah) -
Craig Robson on Feb 01, 2012did you really think that someone who posts in the jobs section would read this?
c'mon man. -
Geoff May on Feb 01, 2012All of Brock's recent threads have been about the job section. We get it, the job section has some kinks to work out. I'm not sure starting a new thread about it all the time is helping. The Black Axe fellas are aware of the problem.
-
Kevin on Feb 01, 2012Are you offended that he's offering $100-$300 for a shirt design or that he wants "the number one designer"? Because the high end of the former isn't insanely insulting and the latter is just him talking shit up. I don't think he's expecting literally the best designer out there.
Maybe we're getting a little too sensitive about these job posts? -
iamdb on Feb 01, 2012Personally I'm not offended at all, I just found a good opportunity to post that funny ass photo (haha) Not sure how Brock feels about it though, the job post clearly rubbed him the wrong way. I think that is just the design business in general these days, so we should all be a mostly immune to it by now.
People offering these jobs will realize what they are doing wrong, when none of the quality designers from this site are responding to their posts, and when they wind up with the worst looking designed shit ever. -
Kevin on Feb 01, 2012Yeah, that was meant for Brock. I agree though, the dudes who don't want to pay will find no one or get shit work. I just don't think the post Brock is pissed about is so outrageous.
-
Geoff May on Feb 01, 2012I agree with Kevin. That budget is actually one of the higher ones I've seen on this site. Though I assume that $100-300 really means $125, but whatever. Brock just seems to start a number of negative threads about the job section. There comes a time when you have to realize that it is what it is. There's not going to be high end job offers on there. Those offers will just be sent directly to the artists a company wants to work with. Just relax, ignore it and stop posting about it, I guess.

iamdb on Feb 02, 2012Want to start some conversation, take a look at this article.
This artist was paid by Facebook in stock shares for paintings in the first Facebook corporate HQ's, now his stock is worth 200 million dollars. This blew my mind!
