Band Job Poster Contest!! (Win 2 Unreleased Black Axe Posters!)

Design a gig poster and win 2 gig posters from The Black Axe!

What Are The Rules? We provide a fake band name, venue, and date. You must design a 2 color screen-printable poster for this fake show. (remember, you can use the paper color as a 3rd color if you're creative)

How Long Do I Have? You have a week to design it. Next Friday, we will collect all of the entries and put them up to vote on by the BJ community.

What Do I Win?: You get 2 unreleased gigposters from The Black Axe. (They are so new we can't even show you them yet, but I promise that they are awesome!)

Who Can Enter? Everyone is welcome to enter the contest! You DO NOT have to have an artist account. If you can post on the forum, you're in. Each user can only enter once, so make 1 really good one instead of 300 alright ones.

How Do I Enter? All you have to do is post your entry in this thread before next Friday.

Venue: The Creep Room - 273 W. Bungalo ST. Bethesda, MD

Date: September 10th

Extra Info: 9pm $8

Please excuse me if these are stupid questions:

Size? In Holland we have 3 standard/regular poster sizes: A1, B1 or Abri.
What type of band is it? Country, hip-hop, crabcore, turtlecore? Or do you leave that up to us and our imagination?

To some/most of you these might be the most common things, to me they're not.

Either way, this sounds great.

yeah upsidedown would be a great thing too. like he was praying for doom.
my thoughs were more about what people do when there is a problem(armageddon haha) like senseless and desperately praying to whatever( -> cross in the right way). and how much that helps is shown by the historical dinosaur thing.

i love the idea of a trex beeing crucified haha.

Here is mine. There are a few references to Maryland in this poster since that where the venue is. Can you find them all? Also, I will give a virtual high five to whoever can correctly name all the statues first. I hope you all like it.

I didn't really intend to have it be a double shadow... more of an outline I guess, but looking at it today does make it feel shadowy. I'll mess around with it later on see if I can get it working right. I know that's against the rules... but eh I'm not winning this thing anyway.

I like the composition you set up and the background texture, but I think the illustration could use some more work, to me, it almost looks too simple and theres no shading or texture to the teeth or tools, so they just look like line drawings in illustrator. I think if you added some texture to the pieces it could make it stronger. (obviously this is just my opinion though)

I like the composition you set up and the background texture, but I think the illustration could use some more work, to me, it almost looks too simple and theres no shading or texture to the teeth or tools, so they just look like line drawings in illustrator. I think if you added some texture to the pieces it could make it stronger. (obviously this is just my opinion though)

ha. that's just the way my pencil sketching looks after I scan in and color. I didn't bother going back over and cleaning it up. But ya - on the black it does look a bit like it belongs in the entrance of a Chili's.
