I love where this is going! I'm sure it's going to turn out incredible. For the colors, I'd suggest greys and dark browns.

After a long period of not picking up a pencil, I've been pushing myself to get back into illustration. This is the first thing I've really drawn since I've been back. The construction sucks balls, but I made myself finish it just to go through the paces. Looking forward to being back on my game in the near future. and here's a thing I'm inking for a clothing company called VooDoo X

Glad to see you back in the game man. I like the skull, but that elongated jaw motif you've used always felt a little odd to me.

Yeah, I dunno. I've had good and bad feedback about my anatomy choices there, on several drawings. I've always liked drawing the jaw longer like that, makes the expression look more intense when I look at it. Frenden told me once that he didn't think strict adherence to anatomical norms was really a prerequisite of my style of art. I run with that a little bit and exaggerate things to my liking. Does it come off to most people as just "off"? The Stabb shirt we did is one of my favorite things ever and it uses the exaggerated jaw some. Also the highly stylized maxilla.

I feel like that made sense in the composition... made it feel like the chains were pulling at the jaw. Maybe just not elongating the jaw to the extent in that current one. It just feels HUGE.

Do you think the red it too vibrant, or it works for this piece? I wanted to be kinda trippy, kinda vortex-y, ghosts might take over the world etc...

i think it could work... I would like to see how it looks if it was darker red, or a little more desaturated though... just in curiosity I am digging the second colorway more than the first for sure.

i agree with kn, the red is too saturated i think, it draws the eye away from the focal points of the piece. the negative shape the red makes pops out more than everything else, if that makes sense. awesome illustration man.

If I was printing it, I would see what a split fountain would look like for that background layer. I think that solid layer flattens it a bit, but a split fountain could really make the objects pop.
