Boston punks and great guys "Have Nots" asked me to help them with 2nd LP "Proud", based on the passing of their guitarist's father, pictured with headphones on the cover.
like many of you, i've stockpiled enough decrepit textures to slowly choke myself to death with mold, and was thrilled to finally scan some of them to incorporate into this gatefold LP.
this is one of those projects that got nudged in a few directions, and there were some attempts on coloring and typography that i was regrettably unable to take to completion. the "main" image here is actually unresolved and differs from final version.
i think the end result was mostly what i hoped : something that blurred the line between types of "albums" (photo, record, et al) that exist forgotten in an attic; merging and evolving into something with more meaning as time, age, filth, sepias, & colors imagine themselves into something more symbolic
the inner sleeve for the record continues the photo album motif the band wanted by placing lyrics into newspaper clippings. i really tried to put in the subtle details to pull that off.
