Thank you so much, guys! This one was pretty damn fun to paint. They guys are all about a wide spectrum of metal with their own personal tastes (everything from old Priest to Mastodon to Opeth), so they appreciate the older school vibe and classic metal album covers that guys like Dio had made. So all I was trying to do here was add my offering that idea.

Description

This vertical gatefold was made for the band, "Behold! The Monolith" for their album "Defender, Redeemist". The album is a concept album and tells the tale of a hero, "The Redeemist", who is summoned by the Guardians of the Abyss (a race of primate warriors who are sworn and implemented to protect an alien kingdom’s people and well being) to defeat an evil, demonic space pirate known simply as "The Desolizator".

The painting depicts The Redeemist and The Desolizator in mid battle.
