Frequently Asked Questions
What is Band Job?
Band Job is a community where select professional designers, working in and around the music industry, come to showcase their work.
What the heck can I do here?
With Band Job you are part of a community of artists. You get to network with those artists, check out great work, message people directly, save your favorite projects, check out job postings, create job postings, and say curse words in the forum!
Why can't I post my work?!
Band Job is a community of professional graphic artists, but it is also a community run by professional graphic artists. We want to keep the caliber of work here top notch, but we don't have the time to approve projects one by one. Our solution was to require users to first receive an artist code before they can post work. This system ensures only professional quality work will make it onto the site.
How do I get an artist code?
Each designer that you see posting work on Band Job is given three, and only three, codes to give to a fellow artist. Whoever they decide is radical enough to deserve their code then gets a code of their own, and so on, and so on, and so on...
What kind of work can I post here?
Band Job is for just that, work done for bands. However "band" is a generalization of the music industry as a whole. So you can post anything you have designed for bands, singers, rappers, record labels, crooners, scatmen, and peeps like that. You can even post stuff for clothing lines. Many indie clothing lines are very tightly knit within the music scene.
How do I win?
You don't! Band Job is not a contest site. However we all win because we get to look at awesome work from accomplished artists all day and we get to say curse words in the forum!
How do projects make it to the front page?
The moderators here on Band Job have the ability to select exceptionally awesome projects to be featured on the front page. The most recent six projects that have been selected are what you see.
Can I post a shirt from my clothing line?
Yes, absolutely. Many indie clothing lines are very tightly knit within the music scene. We're all one big family here.
How do I change my username?!
You can't! Pick something you like because that is what people are going to call you FOR-E-VER!
